On April 29-May 1, 2014, BJA and CNA convened the inaugural meeting for the Phase V SPI sites and interim meeting for Phase IV SPI sites in Alexandria, Virginia. This meeting provided an opportunity for site participants to gather together to discuss important issues pertaining to Smart Policing, such as project implementation and expectations, lessons learned during implementation, effective research partnerships, evidence-based policing, and sustainability of innovations. Participants were also introduced to an array of training and technical assistance resources and have the opportunity to engage in peer-to-peer dialogue about their projects and progress to date.
