To address the increase of crime with Rowan County, and to support the public safety coordination among local jurisdictions, the Salisbury Police Department will implement the Rowan Regional Crime Intelligence Center (RRCIC) to enhance the region’s ability to reduce violent crime through synthesizing technology, leading with analytics and providing a centralized location for federal, state and local agencies to share information and collaborate for case strategies and arrests. The RRCIC will allow the implementation of a turn-key solution for an intelligence center, which will launch the region into current intelligence-led practices. To measure the impacts of the RRCIC, the research partner will use an embedded, single-case study design to capture details on the implementation of the RRCIC, capture and monitor changes to organizational processes and procedures, measure process impact outcomes for the RRCIC, and evaluate changes in crime during the project period.
