Recent events in Ferguson, New York, and Baltimore have led law enforcement agencies to rethink how they can build and maintain trust, confidence, and satisfaction with the communities that they serve, especially communities of color. As agencies embrace this challenge, they may need resources to update their training and professional development. In collaboration with the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Training Academy, the Center for Evidence-Based Crime Policy at George Mason University through its Matrix Demonstration Projects (supported by the Bureau of Justice Assistance) has created this free training resource to help law enforcement identify positive ways forward in the effort to improve and/or restore trust with the communities they serve. Three training modules are available for agencies and communities to access: (1) awareness, (2) education and training, and (3) action and leadership. For each, we provide a STEP BY STEP MODULES GUIDE to navigate each module. Please download the guide first and use it to move through each lesson.
