Deputy Chief Dennis Kato of the Los Angeles Police Department and Chief Jonathan Lewin of the Chicago Police Department discussed strategies used to combat gun violence in Los Angeles and Chicago. Captain Richard Trudell of the Syracuse Police Department, a recently awarded SPI site, outlined how their department plans to adapt and apply offender-focused policing to fighting gun violence in the city. Participants learned about the different strategies used to reduce gun-violence and the impact the various strategies had on reducing violence.
