The National Alliance for Drug Endangered Children (National DEC) provides a wealth of resources to help organizations wishing to establish state or local DEC alliances. Those resources, including samples of documents from existing alliances, are consolidated here with information to help the process go smoothly.
This report highlights 25 significant initiatives the COPS Office has contributed to the field in its first 25 years of serving the field. State, local, tribal, and territorial law enforcement agencies, as well as members of the community, have been increasing their use of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS)—also known as drones—because of their increasing utility and efficiency. In December 2019, the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services held a day-long forum to discuss the challenges of law enforcement recruitment and retention and specifically focused on these issues in relation to smaller and more rural law enforcement agencies. The 32 participants included police chiefs, captains, lieutenants, academic experts, researchers, and agency directors of state police standards.
